The Malawi Institute of Journalism has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Center for Democracy and Elections (CEDE) to enable MIJ reporters acquire technical information on matters of elections while CEDE will also benefit from the media and communication expertise that MIJ has.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Technical Specialist at CEDE, Aloisious Nthenda said the MOU was important as it will help ensure that the upcoming elections are reported with accuracy and transparency and also get to as many people as possible.
On his part, Malawi Institute of Journalism Executive Director Dr Levi Phelani said the understanding has come at the right time as the nation braces for elections in 2025.
