The 2026 Malawi University of Science and Technology Culture and Research Innovation Festival has been opened with a call going out to stakeholders to support culture and innovations.
The edition which is the fourth, is being held under the theme, “Integrating Science, Technology, Arts, Culture and Heritage.”
Among the innovations being displayed at the festival is an automated SMS and alarm flood alert system.
George Chitera, Deputy Managing Director of FDH Bank, who was guest of honour at the opening function, has called on investors to support impactful innovations.
Atikonda Mtenje-Mkochi, Executive Dean for Bingu School of Culture, a school under the University, emphasized the need to integrate Science with culture in order for the country to develop.
The festival is set to be concluded this coming Saturday.
