The Centre for Social Accountability and Transparency (CSAT) has called on President Lazarus Chakwera to take immediate and decisive action regarding the shocking revelations of gross procedural violations in the procurement of fuel at the National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA).
CSAT believes these actions were intentionally designed to defraud the Malawian people.
Speaking to MIJ Online Willy Kambwandira, Executive Director of CSAT, emphasized the need for swift action, demanding that all public officers implicated in this scandal step aside to facilitate an independent investigation.
Kambwandira also urged Parliament to intervene, in a bid to ensure that there is accountability and transparency in the matter.
Furthermore, Kambwandira has requested the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to conduct a thorough investigation, highlighting that these allegations involve corruption, fraud, theft, and abuse of power
