The Farmers Union of Malawi says the country should expect low harvest following the shortage of UREA fertilizer.
The remarks come as the ministry of agriculture has advised farmers to buy and use NPK fertilizer following the scarcity of UREA fertilizer on the market.
In an interview Frighton Njolomole- President of Farmers Union of Malawi said the shortage of UREA fertilizer will negatively impact on growth and yield of maize resulting in low production.
With this, Njolomole has urged the farmers to continue using NPK fertilizer although it has less nitrogen.
