Stakeholders in the Agriculture sector have attributed irregularities in the implementation of this year’s Affordable Farm Inputs program to poor planning.
This comes at a time the subsidy program is facing numerous challenges with farmers in some areas yet to start accessing the farm inputs.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Leonard Chilumpha, National Sales and Marketing Manager for Farmers Organization Limited faulted government for failing to come up with effective strategies for implementing the program.
Besides, Chilumpha said there is need to diversify inputs offered under the program and include crops such as cotton and legumes
