Government has restated its warning to beneficiaries of the ongoing Lean Season Response Programme to refrain from selling the distributed goods.
Vice President Dr. Jane Ansah made the appeal during the launch of maize distributions in Lilongwe and Mchinji districts.
The warning comes as the government seeks to ensure that the relief items reach the intended beneficiaries and provide much-needed support during the lean season.
Speaking to MIJ Online Dr. Ansah warned unscrupulous individuals, including vendors, against buying the relief items, saying that government will not hesitate to take action against those found guilty.
Meanwhile Ansah has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing relief items to all people affected by hunger in the country.
