Authorities call for critical thinking as nations mark World Humanist Day

Malawians have been advised to embrace critical thinking skills as one way of dealing with social-economic hardships the country is facing.

The appeal from Wonderful Mkhutche, Executive Director for Humanists Malawi comes on sidelines of commemorating the World Humanist Day.

The day is an opportunity for humanists all around the world to publicize the positive values of humanism and to share the global concerns of the humanist movement.

Speaking to MIJ Online Mkhutche said it was important for the citizenry to use critical thinking skills to come up with lasting solutions to addressing social-economic problems such as food insecurity and climate change.

According to him, this was key to encourage citizen participation in matters of national interest and promote inclusive social-economic growth.
