Sponsors of the Ibongetse Challenge Cup, Caster Malawi Limited, have expressed optimism about providing entertaining football in the semi-finals.

“As sponsors we are delighted to be able to host the cup semi-final draw. The teams taking part have shown great resilience and determination so we hope the great football can continue.”

Wanderers manager Mark Harrison commented on the possibility of a Blantyre derby after the game against Moyal, saying the team are ready to face any opponent.

“We’re very happy with the draw, that’s what football is about. Whether we face the Bullets or Ekwendeni we hope it will be a good game with good football,” Harrison said.

The Castel Challenge Cup kicked off in June at the Bingu National Stadium with the opening match between the Silver Strikers and FCB Nyasa Bullets, with the Bankers winning 3-2.

The finals are due to take place at the end of this month.
