Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera and his Zambian counterpart, Hakainde Hichilema have agreed to swiftly address challenges facing trading deals between the two neighboring countries.
This followed a day long state visit by Hichilema to Malawi.
Addressing the press Chakwera said they need to among other things review existing Simplified Trade Regime in order to expand the list of eligible products traded within this framework.
Chakwera added by indicating that the bilateral talks have helped to cement the standing relationship between the two countries.
He furthermore revealed that the two presidents will next year commission one stop border post at Mchinji/Mwami which will simplify broader controls.
On his part, Hichilema has pledged to continue working closely with Malawi for mutual benefit of the two countries in improving social economic development.
