Police in Lilongwe have arrested Ahmed Mohammed Chunara in connection with K5 billion cement gate case.
Chunara becomes the fifth suspect to be arrested in connection with the case.
Others suspects are businessperson Mahmed Chunara, former Norman Chisale, former director of State residences Peter Mukhito and Roza Mbilizi- deputy commissioner general for Malawi Revenue Authority.
They are being accused of abusing former president Peter Mutharika’s tax payer identification number (TPIN) to import cement worth K5 billion duty-free.
The suspects will appear in court tomorrow for plea taking.
