Displaced people whose houses were demolished by the Malawi Defense Force at Kasasile in Nkhataby district say they need psychosocial counseling.

The plea was made at an event marking one year anniversary since MDF soldiers forcibly evacuated the families from their land saying it is a military shooting range.
According to Albert Harawa, Chairperson for the Displaced Community, the victims have been subjected to poor conditions as they live as refugees in their own country.
Harawa has told MIJ Online that there is a need for the authorities to provide psychosocial support to the affected families currently staying at a temporary camp.
Meanwhile, McKenzie Nkhwazi, Member of Parliament for the area, assured the displaced community that the government is working tirelessly to support them and find lasting solutions to their situation.
