Malawi is among teams that have made substantial jumps in the latest rankings with the Flames climbing ten steps up on global rankings issued by FIFA.
This follows the exploits that the team had at the just ended Africa Cup of Nations where the side reached the round of 16 for the first time in the three outings the Flames have made to the continental showpiece.
The Flames are now on number 119 globally marking historical ten steps.
In the continent, the Flames lie on position 31.
Malawi lost 2-1 to Morocco in the round of 16, a stage that has been hard to reach in years.
According to FIFA, Gambia earned twenty-three steps, while Equatorial Guinea got fifteen, two shy of Cameroon. Runners up Egypt earned eleven steps to now go on 34th place globally.
Senegal remains Africa’s best followed by Morocco, Nigeria, Egypt and Tunisia sealing the best five.
Belgium continue manning global football honors followed by Brazil, France, Argentina then England sealing the top five.
