Police in Blantyre say they are satisfied with the expertise rendered to community security structures on security during the election.
This was disclosed when the Police Community Policing department in partnership with the Institute for Policy Interaction (IPI), met with security leaders from Blantyre.
According to Memory Mgeni, South-West Region Community Policing Coordinator, the meeting showed the readiness to strengthen security.
She said the people have also been reaching out to others as ambassadors to ensure peace.
IPI Executive Director Prof Nandini Patel thanked the police for such an arrangement and urged the security leaders to ensure their structures are peaceful.
The IPI has been holding a series of engagements on electoral issues as supported by the UNDP under the MESP Project.
