PPDA urges traders to go digital

The Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA) has called on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to register on the Malawi National Electronic Procurement System (MANePS).

Katema: We want change.

The system aims to enhance transparency, fairness, and efficiency in procurement processes.

According to Paul Katema, PPDA’s ICT Director, MANePS provides access to government opportunities, clear information on procurement notices, tender announcements, and contract awards. MSMEs also benefit from a 15% advantage for goods and services and 10% for works.

One of the participants in Blantyre, Harriet Lumbe praised the training workshop, saying it will help bridge the information gap when applying for tenders on the government procurement system.
