Sameer Suleman, Member of Parliament for Blantyre City South East, has expressed concerns over the unavailability of some ministers in parliament.
Suleman said he wanted to ask questions to the Minister of Homeland Security, who is currently not present in the house.
According to Suleman, he wanted to ask the minister about the issues of passports and police houses in the country.
“Ministers should take the time to sit here and respond to our questions for the people we represent,” said Suleman.
Commenting on the matter, Leader of the House Richard Chimwendo Banda indicated that the ministers are not running away from the questions, and at the appropriate time, the ministers present in the house will continue to respond to questions from members.
Meanwhile, Second Deputy Speaker of the House Aisha Adams has indicated that ministers, despite having other crucial tasks, should also consider being present in the house.
