‘Admarc job loses, a blow to the economy’

Economic expert- Edward Masoambeta has described as retrogressive a move to lay-off over three thousand workers at the country’s grain trader- Admarc.

There are fears that- three thousand, one hundred and twenty workers at Admarc will lose their jobs during the restructuring process of the institution.

Earlier on, Lobin Lowe, minister of agriculture said government has chosen to send on leave all Admarc members of staff due to the underperformance of the institution.

But, the expert has said, not only has the move come at a wrong time considering the economic hardships, the decision is also retrogressive and costly.

Masoambeta has told MIJ Online, that he fears that government will likely lose more funds in settling compensations.
