The Agriculture Development and Marketing Corporation (ADMARC) says it has officially opened its maize markets in areas where prices had sharply risen.
The move comes as the country faces growing food insecurity, with the rainy season already in session.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Theresa Chapulapula, ADMARC spokesperson said maize is currently selling at K1,300 per kilogram.
She added that the corporation is working to open all remaining markets as quickly as possible to ensure wider access across the country.
