Akster sodomy case adjourned

The Blantyre Magistrate’s Court has set 20 November, 2026 for a ruling in a case involving Dutch national Wim Akster, who is accused of engaging in sexual acts with boys.

Akster is accused of sexually abusing boys and men at the Timotheos Foundation between 2019 and 2020. He was arrested in 2021.

In court today, Akster through his lawyer Michael Goba Chipeta, presented his final defence witness before the court.

The witness told the court that he had been called by someone to testify on whether Akster had ever touched him inappropriately.

The witness said Akster had never touched him.

Chief Resident Magistrate Paul Chiotcha subsequently set November 20 as the date for delivering the ruling.

Chiotcha has since given the two parties 30 day to tender their written submission.
