Human Rights activists in the country have described the arrest of political activist Bon Kalindo as a move by government to silence its critics.
The sentiments follow the re- arrest of Kalindo which came barely minutes after the Zomba magistrate court released him on bail.
Initially, Kalindo was first arrested on Friday for being suspected of uttering false information in Mangochi during antigovernment demonstrations.
Meanwhile according to the police Kalindo is expected to answer new charged which include- malicious damage of property during Anti- Tonse administration protests in Lilongwe.
Kalindo has since been transferred to Lilongwe where he committed the crimes.
But Sylvester Namiwa one of the human rights activists has told MIJ Online that the re-arrest of Kalindo is aimed at silencing the human rights activist.
