CDH draws comprehensive support to LUANAR

CDH Investment Bank has rendered  about K208.8 million in support to development projects at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (Luanar) over the next three years.

Jamal Kamoto CDH chief business development officer  announced the investment during the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding at Bunda Campus, saying about $40,000 (K69.6 million) will be released at the end of each year.

He said the funding includes $27,000 (K46.98 million) for eco-forestry and tourism, $30,000 (K52.2 million) for solar energy infrastructure, $18,000 (K31.32 million) for innovation scholarships, $15,000 (K26.1 million) for general scholarships and $30,000 (K52.2 million) for an endowment fund.
On his part, Luanar Vice-Chancellor Professor Emmanuel Kaunda welcomed the partnership, saying it will strengthen the institution and support national development.
After the ceremony, staff from both institutions planted 2,500 tree seedlings at Mlewa Traditional Authority.
