Information Minister Moses Kunkuyu says President Lazarus Chakwera is not going to Saudi Arabia for the 5th Arab-African Summit which has been postponed but the Saudi-Africa Summit.
It follows viral news of a postponement of the engagement over unrests in Gaza.
But Kunkuyu has come in defence of the trip as Chakwera is heading into another meeting altogether.
This comes barely hours after the Saudi Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday the postponement of the summit due to unrest in Gaza.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Kunkuyu, has indicated that Chakwera will still leave this afternoon for Saudi Arabia.
According to Kunkuyu, Chakwera will attend to a Saudi-Africa Summit which has been funded by Saudi Development Bank and not the postponed Arab-African Summit which was also scheduled to take place in Riyadh on 10 to 11th this month.
