President Lazarus Chakwera will tomorrow leave the country for Kenya to grace the World Bank’s International Development Association Summit.
A statement from Malawi’s Foreign Affairs Ministry says the visit is at the invitation of Kenya’s President William Ruto.
It says this follows the World Bank’s approval of K100 billion in support of Malawi’s efforts to achieve food security in response.
The summits comes as at time when Chakwera declared a state of disaster in 23 districts hit by a dry spell caused by El Nino, which has left those districts with little or no harvest.
