Chibuku Products Limited rage on with Cyclone Freddy support

This December, will be the first time that 50-year-old Asigeli Makishon of Traditional Authority Mchiramwera, Thyolo, sleeps in a well-built facility after her house was washed away following the disastrous Cyclone Freddy earlier in the year.

Makishoni will no longer sleep under a makeshift facility and her joy before her face tells it to Chibuku Products Limited who have supported the drive.

‘’I wish to thank them [Chibuku Products Limited] for the gesture. I have suffered and this house plus the mattress and the utensils are a relief to me. I am short of words,’’ she said.

According to CPL Marketing Manager, Henry M’bweza, the initiative is part of the MK100 Million package channeled towards mitigating effects of the cyclone that Malawisnd faced.

Makishon (L) is so delighted.

‘’We have done this in Thyolo, Mulanje and Zomba where people had been left destitute. We are glad that we are part of the impact, ’’he said.

Further, according to M’bweza, they have been working with former President Bakili Muluzi and Joyce Banda who are goodwill ambassador, from where they also collaborated with Ben Phiri, a member of parliament for Thyolo Central.

Cyclone Freddy which hit Malawi on Saturday 11th March 2023, led to loss of life, injury and devastation of crops, homes and infrastructure in parts of Southern Malawi.
