An expert has predicted a daunting task for Richard Chimwendo Banda after the minister of youth and sports has been appointed as the Chairperson for Affordable Inputs Programme Taskforce.
President Lazarus Chakwera appointed Chimwendo Banda replacing Sam Kawale who is now Minister of Agriculture.
Speaking to MIJ Leonard Chimwaza, one of the country’s agriculturists said Banda will have a huge task to work to diligently deliver this year’s AIP as rainy season is around the corner.
Chimwaza has however hailed Chakwera’s decision to make a quick appointment on the position arguing that it is key for the program not to completely flop.
The views come amid reports that government paid 30 billion kwacha to a firm in United Kingdom which has reportedly duped Malawi of the money.
