Authorities at Bwaila Hospital in Lilongwe have revealed that they are running short of drugs, a situation posing as a threat to health service delivery at the facility
This was revealed during parliamentary committee on health tour at the facility.
Speaking to MIJ Online Dr Alinafe Mbewe, District Health Officer for Lilongwe said currently they are only having 31 percent of required drugs at the hospital.
According to Mbewe, Central Medical Stores is attributing the situation to scarcity of forex for the country to have enough drugs on time.
On his part Dr Mathews Ngwale, Chairperson for Parliamentary Committee on Health promised to take up the issue so that the hospital gets to have enough stock of required drugs.
