Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, has broken his silence on calls by some section of the society for him to contest in the upcoming elections as President of Malawi.
In a brief statement the philanthropist has through his Facebook page, acknowledged plans some people are making to force him stand on a presidential ticket in the 2025 elections.
However, in his response, Bushiri has strongly spoken against such plans and he indicated that contesting in a presidential election is against his will.
“I have seen a trend on social media mobilizing people to go and demonstrate in the streets here in Malawi in order to force me to run for Presidency,” said Bushiri.
In recent months, he has been doing some charity work across the country in which among others he has been providing food assistance to hunger stricken households.
This gesture, has in some way influence other sections of the society to think and feel that Bushiri is fit to lead the country.
