Electricity supplier- ESCOM has disclosed that it has managed to upgrade over 250 thousand meters under Token Identification Project.
The project commenced earlier last year, and the first phase was targeting the country’s major cities.
The TID project aims at upgrading all Escom meters in the country.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Peter Kanjere, Deputy Public Relations Officer for ESCOM say they are satisfied with the progress registered in the first phase of project.
According to Kanjere, the project is expected to be completed by June this year.
“We are just urging the general public to work hand in hand with us, as we are now commencing the second phase that is targeting districts,” said Kanjere.
