Fears of waterborne diseases in Mangochi
District authorities in Mangochi have raised an alarm on the potential outbreak of waterborne diseases.
Reports indicate hygiene and sanitation standards have heavily been compromised in the wake of Tropical Cyclone Ana which also displaced some households.
Meanwhile, many people affected by the floods continue to reside in camps awaiting return to their homes.
But speaking to Raphael Piringu, district commissioner for the district said those affected by the floods were still in danger.
With this Piringu has called for intervention as many people were consuming unsafe water after the damaging of some water infrastructure in the district.
