An economic think tank Ecama has faulted government’s decision to issue out cooking oil importing licenses to traders.
This comes amid revelations that government has issued twenty licenses traders for the importation of the commodity.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Frank Chikuta, President for the Economics Association of Malawi said the move will among other things derail efforts of promoting local products.
Chikuta has also argued that the move will continue making the product not affordable for consumers.
