Leader of Living Word Evangelist Church- LIWEC Prophet David Mbewe has challenged government to champion national healing to Malawians to tame cases of insecurity in the country.
The call follows violent antigovernment demonstrations which were held in Lilongwe where over seventy people have allegedly been arrested while staging the demos.
But according to Prophet Mbewe, the current administration needs to work to address concerns that people are raising including a rising cost of living for people to be convinced about national development and governance.
‘’To this end, I will rage on leading congregants in prayers for national healing with a call for unity as a nation by abolishing tribal organizations like chiwanja cha Ayao, Mulkhakho wa Alhomwe, the Chewa Heritage and many others and live as one nation for a common course,’’ said Mbewe.
Until now, there have been a series of antigovernment demonstrations where different groupings have urged government to deal with economic lapses and address some legal issues reportedly frustrating the fight against corruption.
