Over 100 people with various health complications in the country, stand to benefit from a medical camp organized by a charity organization, Islamic Health Association of Malawi.
The medical procedures are being conducted in Kasungu, Dowa and Kamuzu Central in Lilongwe and are expected to come to an end on Thursday.
According to Hajj Daitoni, Spokesperson for the Association, surgeries are being done in conjunction with Physicians Across the Continent and the Ministry of Health.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Daitoni said the aim of the project is to counter challenges people face when accessing health related services.
“We have organized what we call, medical camp, which is currently happening at Kasungu district hospital, Dowa district hospital and Kamuzu Central hospital. We have specialists from an organization called Physician Across the Continent, this is a UK charity-based organization and it has offices though-out the world.” said Daitoni.
Daitoni has told us that a team of specialists from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Palestine is operating on people with, goiter, swollen bodies and cataract, among others.
