A local technology think-tank – Ictam has declared ICT could be a key driver towards unlocking the country’s economic fortunes.
President of the ICT association of Malawi Clarence Gama has made the declaration ahead of the International ICT Exposition in May.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Gama observed the country’s ICT space was coming of age to provide digital solutions for the country’s socio-and-economic growth.
This, he said, was essential in moving the country towards embracing a digital world which would be a gateway to Malawi’s economic prosperity.
According to Gama; apart from exhibitors showcasing their products and services the exposition will also award outstanding players in categories including digital insurance, digital banking, internet connectivity and digital public service just to mention a few.
