The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority MACRA has disclosed that it is working on five legal proposals aimed at transforming the digital space.
This has been said as the country is marking this year’s Safer Internet Day under the theme ‘Inspiring change? Making a difference, managing influence and navigating change online’.
Speaking to MIJ Online Daud Suleman Director General for MACRA said on top of the recent assented to Data Protection Act, the media regulatory body is also working on other four legal tools to bolster online safety.
Suleman contends that safeguarding children online is crucial, which is why numerous laws and other measures are being developed.
