MCP taking steps for appointment of Vice President

The Malawi Congress Party has said processes to appoint a new party Vice President are still underway.

This comes amid concerns that the party has taken longer to replace Sidik Mia who was holding the position until his death in January last year.

However, Rev Maurice Munthali, Spokesperson for the Malawi Congress Party has told MIJ Online that the perceived delay is because of prevailing issues affecting the country including administrative matters that must be addressed within the party.

He has also said the party is engaging district committee for them to nominate candidates after which other legal processes will follow.
