Member of parliament for Blantyre Malabada Ishmael Mkumba has detailed of high-level interventions meant to uplift the livelihood of his constituents and indirect beneficiaries.
This is harbored in intentions to establish a social enterprise for people in his area.
‘’I have personally had these intentions looking at the challenges that my community continues to face. I believe that this is an appropriate quest to develop our area and economically empower people which can easily overflow to the entire nation,’’ said Mkumba who is a member of the United Democratic Front.
The enterprise which is named Ndirande Trust Limited and will be launched on 30th July will ensure that people create and start up their own businesses through cooperatives.
‘’Our community already has hardworking people who need to be empowered. They will be able to improve their own standards in crucial areas of transportation, education and health. This we must do now,’’ he added.
Among other things, momentarily, Mkumba has said they will start processing and selling bottled water under the name tag Ndirande Hill Forest Water.
