Revenue collector – MRA, has announced that it has managed to collect money amounting to 1.8 billion kwacha in a space of 3 months through the implementation of block management system.
The system which is part of the tax administration reforms, aims at enhancing compliance among small and medium entrepreneurs on revenue collection.
Speaking to MIJ Online, commissioner general of the Malawi revenue authority John Bizwik, has said apart from registering additional revenue of 1.3 million through this initiative, there is a number of people registered to start paying tax.
He has added that increasing the visibility of the authorities across the country will help those obliged to pay tax to honor their submissions
Meanwhile Wilky Mhango , a business operator in Mzuzu has asked the authority to increase the visibility of its officers if the system is to achieve its intended purpose
