National Bank of Malawi (NBM) has signed an agreement with the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) to donate K150 million for establishing an endowment fund.
According to Bank’s CEO Harold Jiya, the fund will support student scholarships, research, and innovation, promoting education and national development.
Speaking to MIJ online, , Jiya, highlighted the importance of investing in education for a successful nation.
MUBAS Vice Chancellor, Associate Professor Nancy Chitera, welcomed the donation as a vote of confidence in the university’s direction, benefiting over 50% of students who are needy.
Chitera said the endowment fund will be managed transparently, ensuring sustainability and attracting further investment.
