Over twenty thousand tons of fertilizer out for distribution

The Ministry of Agriculture says over twenty-two thousand metric tons of fertilizer have been distributed to remote areas within the first ten days of this year’s Affordable Input Program.

Speaking to MIJ Online, Dickie Kampani, Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Agriculture, while admitting that they faced challenges due to forex shortages, all bottlenecks have now been rectified.

He has since expressed optimism that the program will be successful this year due to stringent measures they have put in place.

Meanwhile Ulemu Chilapondwa, Vice Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, has said the committee has set aside monitoring tools for the program.
