About 200 students at Mzuzu University are at risk of failing to write the end of semester examinations for reportedly failing to settle fees balances.
This follows altered fees mark at the institution.
The situation also coincides with a memo signed by Yonamu Ngwira, University registrar which highlighted that it has closed registration and receiving fees period for the 2023/24 academic year.
According to the memo, the university has also gone for strict enforcement of not allowing non-registered candidates to sit for the examinations.
Speaking to MIJ Online, James Nyirenda, Chairperson for Mzuni Face to Face students Association expressed concern over the situation saying students with fees balances are not allowed to take part in the ongoing end of semester examinations.
Nyirenda added that the association has received complaints from about 200 students as of today after the grace period expired since negotiations to allow students to write the examinations and hold their results have not garnered any results.
Nyirenda has however called on government and all well-wishers to consider intervening on the matter.
