Malawi national football team coach Kalisto Pasuwa has said the upcoming Four Nations Tournament is expected to provide the Flames with valuable preparation ahead of 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Pasuwa said this when he gave an update of the team’s training session at Chiwembe grounds in Blantyre.
Speaking to at the grounds, head coach Kalitso Pasuwa emphasized the tournament will play an important role in helping the team rebuild cohesion and sharpen tactical understanding.
“We need to test ourselves against teams from North and West Africa where we know there are very strong sides. That will help improve our players,” Pasuwa said.
The coach revealed that only defender Blessings Mpokera has been ruled out after failing a medical test due to a minor knee injury.
Meanwhile, Fischer ‘Jahman Anonga’ Kondowe has been roped in as fitness coach to replace Peter Mgangira who is committed with club duties.
Flames will face hosts Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia when the tourney gets underway from the 23rd to 31st of March 2026.
