Malawians have been asked to promote peace in order to achieve Malawi’s socio-economic development in the country.
Anjoya Mwanza Spokesperson for Local Government Unity and Culture said this as Malawi will join the global community in commemorating the 2023 International Day of Peace on 21st September.
Speaking to MIJ Online Mwanza said the commemoration remains crucial for Malawi’s socio-economic development saying peace, security, law and order provide the framework to achieve the 2063 vision.
According to Mwanza, no nation can develop economically if there is no peace among the people.
Therefore, she has asked different stakeholders to join hands to civic educate communities the significance of living together in peace and harmony.
This year’s commemoration will be held in Lilongwe on 12th of October.
