Authorities have finally confirmed that daughter to President Lazarus Chakwera has been deployed at the Malawi’s diplomatic mission in London, United Kingdom.
Rejoice Shumba, spokesperson for the ministry of foreign affairs and international relations has told MIJ Online that Violet Chakwera, just like any other qualified Malawian has been deployed as an investment attaché in London.
Her responsibility, according to Shumba will be to sell Malawi to potential investors.
Meanwhile, a social commentator, Tiyane Nyirenda, has thrown his weight behind the deployment of the president’s daughter to London.
In Nyirenda’s view, there is nothing wrong with the arrangement as long as she is well-qualified for the job.
Chakwera has before denied that her daughter was picking up a diplomatic role in Belgium although his ex-publicist stated there was no problem because Violet is qualified.
