Pieter De Jongh, the head coach of Silver Strikers, has praised Malawi national football team coach Patrick Mabedi for what he describes as the team’s outstanding performance in the recent two World Cup qualifying matches.
De Jongh emphasized that the team’s progress in various areas is evident from their recent displays against Liberia and Tunisia.
Regarding the TNM Super League performance, De Jongh clarified that he did not have a role in selecting players, as it was the board’s decision.
He reported to the board about the need for a striker, but unfortunately, the situation remained unresolved, impacting the team’s overall performance.
Expressing dissatisfaction, De Jongh criticized the Super League of Malawi for its inconsistent football fixture.
Despite the challenges, Silver Strikers currently hold the third position with 53 points from 28 matches.
Their upcoming match is today against Kamuzu Barracks at Bingu Stadium marks their last home game.
