Sisters shine!

The Kadango sisters have emerged winners of 2023 Association of Malawians in Ireland (AMAI) 2023 Kids Got Talent which happened over the weekend in Dublin, Ireland.
AMAI organised the ceremony as one way of promoting togetherness and oneness among people living in Ireland, which was spiced up by several activities.

AMAI President Henry Mkumbira Phiri says the awards ceremony acknowledges excellence among the Malawian community in Ireland.

Zoey and Zara, 6 and 4 years old respectively were voted as winners following the excellent performance out of 19 Kids who participated in the competition.
According to Phiri, the winners went home with a hamper, Christmas cake and money prize 240 euros.
On the same night, the Malawian community in Ireland have also awarded few people recognising their hard work in different categories.
Among others, Memory Kazombo was voted Entrepreneur Woman of the year, We Grow Together as Charity of the year, Griffin Saenda as Sports person of the year, Personality of the year Henry Mkumbira Phiri, Young Best Chess Player of the Tournament Jayden Gama, Entertainer of Year, Faith Alufandika, Art/Media Award, Geoffrey Chimombo.
Phiri has however hinted that the Gala is meant to preserve and promote the Malawian culture in Ireland and also to encourage hard work and resilience among the Malawian community in Ireland.
In 2021, Divine Kaponda emerged the top winner in the competition after showing amazing skills in arts, drawing and painting.  She went home with €100.
