Stakeholders lament continued lack of access to water

The Water and Environmental Sanitation Network (WESNET) has challenged politicians to prioritize provision of clean water arguing that it is a catalyst for the country’s social economic development.

This call was made during a meeting of the Wash Media Forum in Lilongwe, where new office bearers were elected.

Stakeholders pose after the engagement.

Meclina Chirwa was elected as the Chairperson, Ntchindi Meki as the Vice Chair, George Mhango as the Secretary-General, Bridget Mwanoka as the Treasurer, Robert Edward and Kumbukani Phiri were elected as Executive Members respectively.

Speaking to MIJ Online Willies Mwandira Executive Director for WESNET reaffirmed their commitment to continue working with journalists in the country.

Mwandira has since urged authorities to prioritize water, even including it in their manifestos ahead of the upcoming tripartite elections.
