Newly appointed British High Commissioner to Malawi, Leigh Stubblefield and Malawi’s High Commissioner to the UK, Dr Thomas Bisika, also attended the meeting.

Talks centered on expanding trade and attracting investment in agriculture, mining, energy, healthcare, tourism, financial services and technology.
The Chamber confirmed the new Malawi office will support businesses operating between the two countries.
British High Commissioner to Malawi, Stubblefield, said the meeting showed the private sector’s role in growth.
Meanwhile, Malawi’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr Thomas Bisika, said Malawi is ready for UK investors arguing that the country is committed to creating a competitive and attractive investment environment.
And on his part, UKMCC Chairperson Edgar Chibaka said their role as a Chamber is to create opportunities, build trusted relationships and help businesses navigate both markets.
However, Chief Executive Officer Hannington Gondwe said that the establishment of Malawi office will strengthen ability to support investors, facilitate partnerships and help businesses identify opportunities in both markets.
