Stakeholders in the provision of safe water have challenged water providers to improve their service delivery in the country at a time when tariffs are being raised.
In separate statements that MIJ Online has seen – the Southern Region Water Board and the Northern Region Water Board have increased their tariffs effective 1st November.
In an interview Glory Nyirenda – Communications Officer for Water and Environmental Sanitation Network – has described this as a welcome development.
However, Nyirenda has challenged the water providers to improve on service delivery and ensure transparency and accountability in their activities.
