ZAMM Investment is questioning a recent publication by Competition and Fair Trading Commission CFTC warning people against consuming their Cool Drop mineral water due to contamination, arguing that the affected batches were already recalled.
According to authorities, the factory technical fault led to the supply of water that did not meet certain set of standards.
Meanwhile in a statement by ZAMM Investment made available to MIJ Online, the company stated that the fault only affected few batches of 500ml bottled water, which were detected with white foreign materials.
However, the company said many batches including 1L, 2L, and 5L sealed bottles were not affected in the process.
The company has since expressed displeasure with CFTC for issuing a warning publication against consumption of their product, saying it came one month after they commenced the recalling operation.
The company has since indicated that it is engaging CFTC and Malawi Bureau of Standards to provide clarification on the matter.
