One of the country’s key development partner, World Bank has expressed satisfaction with the progress at which Agricultural Commercialization Project is taking in the country.
The flagship 95 million dollars’ worth agriculture commercialization project started in 2018 and is expected to run up to 2023.
Speaking to MIJ Online, Holger Kray Practice Manager for Agriculture and Food Security at World Bank showed delight with how the country is implementing the project.
According to Kray, the project has the power to support government’s dream of jobs creation hence the need to invest more into it.
Kray has since indicated that World Bank will continue supporting agricultural projects in the country even though the project is coming to an end next year.
On his part Ted Nankhumwa National Project Coordinator for AGCOM said they have made significant progress as they have disbursed about 11 million dollars to support people in the country.
