Campaigners for patients safety

Health rights campaigners have called for the need to create a conducive environment that will ensure proper care and safety of patients.

The call comes as Malawi joins the rest of the world in commemorating World Safety Day under the theme “Engaging Patients for patient safety”.

The day which falls on 17th September every year was set aside by the World Health Organization with the aim to influence stakeholders including families, health workers and policy makers to work together in coming up with health care policies and safety interventions that reflect the needs of parents.

Speaking to MIJ Online, George Jobe, a health rights campaigner-suggested the need for adequate financing towards the health sector as one way of improving health care service delivery in the country.
